Upcoming Events
UBC Family Practice Postgraduate Program Information Event (PIE):
Join UBC Family Practice Postgraduate Program Director Dr. Sarah McCorquodale, current residents, and Site Directors from our 23 training sites for an evening designed to help you explore where you might fit within our program.
You will hear directly from residents about their training experiences, get a quick introduction to every UBC Family Medicine Residency training site, and then move freely between interactive breakout rooms to connect with Site Directors.
Come with three sites already on your list—and the curiosity to explore one or two you may not have considered. You might discover a community, learning environment, or training experience that feels like the right fit.
Have a broader program or CaRMS application question? Visit our Program Welcome and CaRMS Questions Room during the breakout portion of the evening.

Resident-Led Site Q&A Sessions
Our resident-led Site Q&A sessions are one of the best opportunities to learn more about the individual communities, learning environments and day-to-day resident experiences across our 23 UBC Family Practice training sites.
Each site hosts its own virtual session, giving you the opportunity to connect directly with current residents, hear what training at their site is really like and ask the questions that matter most to you. Attend sessions for the sites already on your list—and consider exploring a few you may not have thought about before.
A complete calendar for all 23 training sites, including session dates and direct Zoom access links, will be posted here in early October.

UBC Interview Process
UBC Family Practice Postgraduate Program will hold live, virtual Multiple Mini Interviews during the UBC interview period.
Shortlisted applicants will complete one centralized UBC Family Practice Postgraduate Program interview, regardless of the number of UBC training sites to which they apply. Individual sites do not conduct separate interviews.
The interview is mandatory for shortlisted applicants and will be conducted synchronously through the Kira Talent platform. Applicants will receive scheduling, login, and technical information with their interview invitations.
Support on Your Interview Day
A virtual UBC Welcome Room will be available each interview morning via Zoom. Applicants can join before their interview to ask questions and receive support from the UBC team.
The Welcome Room is separate from the interview and is not part of the applicant’s assessment.
Our MMI Approach
The Multiple Mini Interview provides applicants with several opportunities to share their experiences, thoughts, and approach to situations relevant to family medicine.
For the 2027 interview cycle, applicants and interviewers will be instructed to reserve two or more minutes for at least one follow-up question. This change was made in response to feedback and is intended to support a more conversational interview experience, with an opportunity to explore an applicant’s response in greater depth.
Applicants complete only one UBC Family Practice Postgraduate Program interview and do not need to prepare separately for each training site.
